Te Awa Lakes Digital Twin is a first for Waikato and New Zealand. A fully master planned community, where you’ll find homes, offices, shops, cafés and adventure parks, all within a stone’s throw of the Waikato River. The Digital Twin has played a pivotal role in the masterplanning and marketing phases of the development and will continue to provide increasing data points to evaluate current conditions and future operational community requirements as the development grows.

The digital Twin has provided valuable data around pedestrian traffic and early community habits in order that the planned additional amenities are optimised based on actual behavior rather than relying upon theoretical models and desktop studies.
The hot air balloon VR experience was a novel use of the digital twin aimed at community engagement. Stakeholders and members of the community were invited to experience a virtual flight over the proposed development. Complete control of movement around the site was afforded by the real-time environment providing participants with a truly immersive and engaging experience.
