Glenstone

Creating a serene and contemplative environment to view contemporary art, the expansion of the Glenstone Museum creates a new space for exhibitions. Designed by Thomas Phifer & Partners, the space expands on the late architect Charles Gwathney's separate museum building.

Visualisations by The Boundary for the new expansion to the Glenstone Museum in Potomac, Maryland for the Glenstone Museum Foundation.

Composed of grey cast concrete blocks which vary in colour and texture, one of the key objectives behind the expansion was to embed nature into the experience. With grass covering the roof of the buildings to match the verdant area, it aids in creating an atmosphere for one to get lost in the art.
